Professional Experience
Mr. Retzlaff is a professional engineer with 34 years of
experience in development, project management, and construction of
electric power generation facilities. In 1998 he founded STRATEGIC
ENERGY SOLUTIONS, INC., a specialized, professional consulting firm
that provides consulting services related to the electric power industry.
He successfully completed three major energy projects valued at over
$65 million by managing the budget, permitting, construction and startup
activities. During the period 1999 through 2003, he completed 13 different
due diligence initiatives for the purchase of 88 power generation facilities,
35 of which were visited by Mr. Retzlaff at both domestic and foreign
locations. He has provided a variety of other consulting services including
project feasibility studies, financial viability analysis, facilitating
acquisitions, expert testimony services and others.
A few of Mr. Retzlaff’s past professional clients include PG&E,
Southern California Edison, El Paso, CalEnergy, Goldman Sachs, Smith
River Rancheria Tribe, Port Townsend Paper Company and Tractebel Power,
Inc.
